et al.:
All four words (Legitimacy, Credibility, Accountability & Responsibility) essentially mean the same thing and are synonymous with each other in context. Having said that - to some critics they mean distortion, innuendo, false accusations, and irresponsible gossip leading to disgracing those who live up to the credos of Legitimacy, credibility, accountability and responsibility. And it results in their personal gain and sensational revenue for the media. Questions we have to answer include: (1) Do we hold accountable those (definitely referencing democrats) who falsely state facts and throw out accusations about others without applying the same standard of proof? (2) Do we allow the undermining of our government through innuendo or do we hold those (not referencing Howard Dean) who incite accountable as they expect we should do to those they target fabrications and rhetoric? (3) Do we believe that if it is printed its credible without holding the writers accountable for their misrepresentations under the guise of "free" press (not referencing the Washington Post, New York Times, the Sun papers or national news magazines)? (4) Do we believe broadcast reports of facts when reporters (not referencing local DC network owned channels) question events and suggest off the wall analysis without substance or knowledge of what they are reporting on?(5) Do we ask our politicians to be more responsible than those (not referencing media anchors) who take cheap shots at them? (6) Do we assume that those persons (not referencing democratic Presidential candidates) challenging credible persons are more legitimate than those who stand up and risk their credibility for taking positions? (7) Do we fear more over control in a society that has more rules, regulations, and restrictions for "law abiding" citizens (definitely not referencing democrats) than anywhere else in the world? (8) Do we honesty think that "fishing expeditions" of opposing views are cause for costly investigation to defend nonsense for the political gain of the opposing party (not specifically referencing democrats - but the legal use of party as individuals)? (9) or do we believe because the media is stupid enough to create interest in a bogus controversy to sell advertising time and space without regard to the injury, breach of security, or financial stability to the free world that it is important? Maybe, we should hold those whose (not specifically referencing democrats or media) claims are not legitimate, credible, accountable or responsible in compliance if not in contempt as some are now experiencing in New York and soon in Ireland. Or, just hang the bastards for treason? Whatever we do, we should neither dignify the babble with any response nor contribute to Mike Miller's anti-retribution extortion list. |
